Privacy Policy
Archived version. This is the previous version, kept for reference. See the current Privacy Policy.
This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Use.
UTelX is not affiliated with YouTube, TikTok, Telegram, X, xAI, Google, or Meta. Those names are used only to describe the kind of product we are building.
The Service also includes https://www.utelx.online (main), Watch, Messages, Public Square, Super Grok or other AI features, notifications, membership areas, applications, buttons, widgets, published APIs, and other UTelX features that link to this Policy. “Content” means information, text, links, graphics, photos, audio, videos, messages, files, or other materials you or others upload, download, generate, or that appear on the Service. This Policy also applies if you use the Service on a device or account you are allowed to use.
1. Who is responsible
UTelX is the controller of personal data collected through the Service, except where a vendor (for example Kajabi or a payment processor) acts as an independent controller for its own billing or fraud systems.
Contact: privacy@utelx.net
Other vendors listed in this Policy usually act as processors for us (they handle data on our instructions to run hosting, email, video, analytics, or AI features). Their own notices still apply when they decide how to use data for their independent purposes (for example card-network fraud checks).
2. What we collect
The personal data we collect falls into the groups below. What we actually have about you depends on how you use Watch, Messages, Public Square, Super Grok / AI, checkout, and support.
2.1 You give us
- Name, email, password or login
- Billing name, country, and payment-related details (card data is handled by the payment provider, not stored by us as full card numbers)
- Account profile, photos, bio, website link, and settings
- Content you post: videos, messages, comments, posts, files, and thumbnails
- Support emails and form messages
- Age or eligibility confirmations
- Display name, username / handle, cover photo, and notification or privacy preferences you set
- Phone number or extra contact details, only if you choose to add them
- Reports, blocks, mutes, feedback, and other messages you send us about the Service or other members
2.2 Collected automatically
- IP address, device type, browser, language, approximate location
- Pages viewed, links clicked, referrer, timestamps
- Session and cookie IDs
- App or membership usage (features used, logins, error logs)
- Approximate country for tax and fraud checks
- Device and software details (operating system, browser version, time zone, screen or app version, and similar technical data)
- Log data when you view or use the Service — including if you are signed out — such as the referring page, access times, pages or screens visited, and crash or error reports
- Search terms you run on the Service, and how you interact with Watch, Messages, Public Square, and other member surfaces (for example plays, likes or other reactions, replies, follows, bookmarks, shares, and lists you create)
- Cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies, as described in Section 8
- Approximate location inferred from IP address. We do not need precise GPS to run the Service. If a later feature lets you share a more precise place, we will collect that only if you choose to share it.
- Usage metering: counts of metered actions (for example minutes of video stored and watched, AI chats, One Brain briefings, X imports, and emails sent), the time of each, your current allowance and credit balance, and alert history, so we can run the usage meter, apply your allowance and credits, and send usage alerts
2.3 From others
- Kajabi (accounts, purchases, emails, course/membership access)
- Resend (transactional @mention emails, and other engagement mail you opt in to)
- Payment processors, including Stripe for credit pack purchases made in the app (payment success or failure, amount, last4, card brand, and chargebacks)
- Analytics or ads tools if we enable them
- If you sign in with a third party (Google, X, Apple, etc.), that provider may send us your name, email, and ID
- If you connect YouTube (Google), X, or TikTok from Import, that service sends the account and video details described in Section 2.6
- Other members (for example when they mention or tag you, send you a message, reply to you, follow you, or report Content)
- Services you choose to connect to your account, and publicly available information we may use for safety, fraud, or to operate a feature you asked for
2.4 AI features
If you use Super Grok or any on-site AI widget, we collect the text (and any files) you submit and the model’s reply, plus technical logs needed to run and bill that feature. Think memory may also store a short list of facts about you (preferences, topics you care about, recent Ask this video / Grok summaries) so answers can feel continuous. You can turn that off or clear it in Settings → Privacy. We do not put other members’ private Messages into Think memory.
That includes prompts, attachments, generated output, and related metadata (time, feature used, and technical errors).
2.5 Types of personal data
Depending on how you use the Service, the information above may include:
- Identifiers (name, handle, email, account ID, IP address, cookie or device IDs)
- Commercial and transaction information (membership, checkout, renewals, credit pack purchases, and credit balance and usage history)
- Internet or electronic activity (logs, usage, Content interactions)
- Approximate geolocation (from IP, not precise GPS by default)
- Audio, visual, or similar information you upload (photos, videos, voice or files)
- Inferences we may draw for security, abuse prevention, or to operate and improve the Service (for example likely country, likely duplicate or abusive accounts)
We do not ask you for government ID, biometric templates, or health records to use the basic Service. Do not submit that kind of data in Super Grok, Messages, or Public Square.
2.6 YouTube, X, and TikTok
Import is optional. You choose the account and which items to save. We do not post, comment, like, follow, or message on YouTube, X, or TikTok for you. We do not download or re-host those video files. Playback uses the other service’s player, with a label and a link back to the original.
TikTok. Import my TikTok uses TikTok Login Kit. We ask only for your basic profile (display name and profile photo, scope user.info.basic) and the list of your public videos (scope video.list). We show that name and photo so you can confirm the account, then you check which videos to save. For each saved video we keep the TikTok video id, the share link, the title or caption, the cover image address, the length, and the time TikTok says it was posted. Videos play in TikTok’s embed player on UTelX. Cover image addresses from TikTok expire. If a cover does not load, we show a simple placeholder or ask TikTok’s public oEmbed service for a fresh cover for that view. We do not keep your TikTok access token after the list is loaded. If TikTok also sends a refresh token, we revoke it and do not store it. Disconnect TikTok on the Import page clears the unsaved list. You can also remove UTelX in TikTok under Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services. To delete videos already saved on UTelX, delete them from Watch or Shorts, or email privacy@utelx.net and ask us to delete that data. TikTok’s own privacy policy applies to the sign-in and to the embed player.
YouTube (Google). Import my YouTube uses a Google sign-in with view-only access to the YouTube channel you choose. We keep the video id, title, description, and thumbnail address, and we play the video in YouTube’s embed player. We do not keep a Google token. Disconnect on the Import page clears the unsaved list. You can also remove UTelX from your Google Account permissions.
X. Import my X posts uses an X sign-in with read access to the posts on the account you choose. We keep the post text, date, and a link back to X. We do not keep an X token, and we do not post to X. Disconnect on the Import page clears the unsaved list.
Pasting a single YouTube or TikTok link does not sign you in to that service. We ask that service’s public oEmbed endpoint for a title and a cover, then play the video in that service’s embed player.
3. How we use data
We use personal data to:
- Create and run your account and membership
- Process payments, renewals, taxes, and no-refund / chargeback handling
- Measure your use of metered features, apply your monthly allowance and credits, show your usage meter, pause features at your limit, and send usage alerts at 80% and 100%
- Deliver Watch, Messages, Public Square, and AI features as they launch
- Send transactional mail (receipts, login, security, launch access, @mention notices you have not muted, and other engagement mail you opt in to)
- Send marketing mail only if you opt in or law allows (you can unsubscribe)
- Moderate content, stop spam, fraud, and abuse
- Improve the Service, fix bugs, and measure usage
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms
- Provide customer support
- Operate, personalize, and help you discover Watch, Messages, Public Square, search, notifications, and Super Grok / AI
- Authenticate you, keep the Service secure, and investigate suspected violations of our Terms of Use
- Measure, analyze, test, troubleshoot, and research how the Service is used so we can make it better
- Create de-identified or aggregated information that is no longer personal data, and use that to improve the Service
Legal bases (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies): contract (membership), legitimate interests (security, product improvement, limited analytics), consent (marketing cookies / optional AI where required), and legal obligation (tax, accounting, lawful requests).
4. Payments, Kajabi, and Stripe
Checkout and membership hosting run on Kajabi and its payment partners (for example Stripe or Kajabi Payments). Those companies process:
- Email and account
- Purchase history
- Payment tokens and billing status
- Transaction times, renewal or auto-renew status, amounts paid, and chargeback or tax data needed to complete checkout
Their privacy policies also apply when you check out. We do not store full credit-card numbers on UTelX servers.
Credit packs bought inside the Service are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives your email, the purchase amount, and your payment details, and tells us whether the payment succeeded so we can add credits. Stripe’s privacy policy applies. We do not store full card numbers. We do not keep a saved card for automatic top-ups.
5. AI / Super Grok
Optional AI features may send your prompt to xAI or another model provider so a reply can be generated. Do not put secrets, card numbers, health data, or other people’s private data into the AI widget.
Providers may process prompts to deliver the answer and, depending on their terms, for safety and abuse monitoring. We do not sell your chats as a standalone product. We may retain chats for a limited time for support, abuse review, and quality.
AI output can be wrong. It is not professional advice.
We may use de-identified or aggregated prompts, outputs, and technical logs to improve Super Grok and the Service. We do not use your private AI chats as a standalone advertising product. Model providers process prompts to generate a reply and, depending on their terms, for safety. You are responsible for what you submit and for how you use the output. Think memory is a small per-member store you can clear; it is not a second copy of Public Square, Watch transcripts, or anyone else’s Messages.
6. Public and member content
- Public Square posts and public profiles may be visible to other members or anyone on the internet. Public profiles may also show a website link you add, and a coarse last-seen / online signal (Active now, within 1h, within 1d, or longer) — not an exact clock. You can hide that signal in Settings → Privacy (Show when I’m active).
- Messages are intended for the people in that chat or channel, but we and our processors can access them when needed to operate, secure, or moderate the Service, or if required by law.
- Video you upload may be processed (transcoded, stored, streamed) by hosting vendors.
Do not post personal data about others without a lawful reason.
6.1 Public Square, Watch, profiles, and search
UTelX is a membership social platform. If you post on Public Square, comment on Watch, or keep a public profile, you are directing us to show that Content as widely as the feature allows. That can include other members and, for some surfaces, people who are not signed in.
Public profile information can include your display name, handle, photos, bio, website link, and the coarse last-seen / online signal described above (unless you turn Show when I’m active off). Interactions that a feature treats as public (for example replies, follows, or reactions on Public Square) may also be visible to others.
Public Content may be searchable on the Service and may be indexed or copied by internet search engines, archives, or other third parties we do not control. If you later delete or change a public post, copies can remain on other members’ devices, in caches or backups, or on third-party services under their own policies.
6.2 Messages and group chats
Messages are meant for the people in that chat or channel. They are not a promise of secrecy. Recipients can copy, screenshot, forward, or re-post what you send. If a recipient uses another device, backup, or third-party tool, your message may be stored there too.
We and our processors can access Messages when needed to operate, secure, or moderate the Service, or if required by law, as stated above. Do not treat Messages as end-to-end encrypted unless we clearly say a specific feature is.
7. When we share data
We share data with:
- Vendors who help us run the Service (Kajabi, hosting, email, CDN, video, analytics, customer support, AI APIs)
- Payment and fraud providers
- Professional advisers (accountant, lawyer) under confidentiality
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the Service
- A buyer if UTelX is sold or merged (your data would transfer with the business)
- People you choose — for example other members who can see Content you post or Messages you send, or a third-party app you connect
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not rent your email list. Vendors may be in the United States or other countries. If you are in the EEA/UK, transfers rely on the vendor’s lawful transfer tools (for example standard contractual clauses) where required.
Processors who run the Service for us may use personal data only to provide their service to us, except where they are an independent controller as described in Section 1.
We may preserve, use, or disclose personal data when we reasonably believe it is needed to: comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or government request; protect the safety of any person; protect the safety or integrity of the Service, including to help prevent spam, abuse, or malicious use; explain why we removed Content or an account; address fraud, security, or technical issues; or protect the rights or property of UTelX, members, or others who use the Service.
If UTelX is sold, merged, reorganized, or transfers assets (including in bankruptcy), personal data may transfer with the business. This Policy will apply to that data unless a successor posts a new policy. We will try to give notice if a transfer materially changes who controls your data.
8. Cookies and similar tech
We and our vendors use cookies, pixels, and local storage to:
- Keep you logged in
- Remember checkout and site settings
- Measure traffic
- Prevent fraud
- Understand referrals (which page or campaign sent you here) and whether essential features loaded
You can block cookies in your browser. The Site may not work fully without essential cookies. If we use non-essential analytics or ads cookies in the EEA/UK, we will ask for consent where the law requires it.
Similar technologies include pixels, software development kits, and local or session storage. Some cookies are essential to keep you signed in and complete Kajabi checkout. Others are optional analytics or, if we later enable them, advertising cookies. See Section 13 for Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.
9. How long we keep data
- Account and billing records: for the life of the account plus the period we must keep invoices and tax records (often 7 years)
- Usage and credit records (meter counts, credit ledger, and pack purchases): for the life of the account plus the period we must keep billing and tax records, so we can answer billing questions and chargebacks
- Membership access logs: as long as needed to run and secure the Service
- Content you post: until you delete it or the account is closed, unless we must keep a copy for legal or safety reasons
- Support tickets: typically up to 2–3 years
- AI chat logs: limited period unless needed for abuse or billing disputes
- Marketing unsubscribe records: as long as needed to honor the opt-out
- Device, log, cookie, and similar technical data: as long as needed to operate, secure, and measure the Service, then delete or anonymize
- Deactivated accounts: when you deactivate (if that control is available), the account is hidden from new follows, people search, and new messages as described in product settings. Content may stay with a deactivated label. You may have a limited window (currently 30 days) to reactivate. Deactivation is not a hard delete. To ask us to delete data, email privacy@utelx.net.
- Safety and enforcement: if an account is suspended for abuse, we may keep identifiers (such as email or account ID) longer to help stop repeat violations
When we no longer need data, we delete or irreversibly anonymize it.
We may keep information longer when needed to comply with law, a preservation request, or a legal claim, or to investigate abuse. Public Content can still exist elsewhere after it is removed from UTelX, as described in Section 6.1.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (HTTPS, access controls, vendor security). No method is 100% secure. You are responsible for your password and for what you post.
That includes using a strong, unique password and protecting devices you use to sign in. If you think the account was accessed without permission, change your login details and email privacy@utelx.net. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hardware failure, or third-party misuse will never occur.
11. Children
The Service is for adults 18+ (or the age of majority). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
The Service is not directed to children. You must meet the 18+ (or age of majority) rule in our Terms of Use. If we learn that a person under that age has an account, we will close it and delete personal data we do not need to keep for law or safety.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete data (subject to legal keep-periods and backup cycles)
- Export data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent (for example marketing)
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority
To use these rights, email privacy@utelx.net. We may need to verify it is you.
California / similar US state laws: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are commonly defined for targeted advertising, unless we later enable ads and update this Policy. You may request access, deletion, and correction as above.
Closing your account does not create a refund. See the Terms of Use (No Refunds).
You can also correct some profile information in your account settings. An authorized agent may email us on your behalf; we may ask for proof of authority and still need to verify the request. We may decline a request if we cannot verify you, if the law allows us to refuse, or if we must keep the data (for example invoices or an active abuse investigation).
Residents of California and other US states that grant similar privacy rights may also request: access to the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have about you; correction; deletion; a portable copy; and to opt out of “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising if we engage in those activities. We do not currently sell or share personal information for targeted advertising as those terms are commonly defined. If that changes, we will update this Policy and describe how to opt out. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right the law gives you. Exercising those rights does not create a membership refund.
This Policy does not publish CCPA-style metrics (for example counts of requests in a reporting year). If a law requires us to provide more detail, we will do that when we respond to a verified request or when we update this Policy.
Marketing: you can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message or by emailing privacy@utelx.net. You may still receive transactional mail (receipts, security, membership access, and @mention notices you have not muted). Cookie choices are in Section 8 and Section 13.
13. Do Not Track
The Site does not respond to every browser “Do Not Track” signal. Use cookie controls and your account settings instead.
Some browsers send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where a law requires us to treat GPC as an opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising, we will honor that signal for the browser that sent it, to the extent we actually engage in that activity. Today we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising as those terms are commonly defined.
14. International visitors
The Service is operated from the United States. If you use it from another country, your data may be processed in the United States and other places where our vendors sit.
That includes transfers to the United States and to other countries that may not have the same data-protection laws as your home country. Where required (for example EEA/UK/Switzerland), we rely on lawful transfer tools such as standard contractual clauses and the vendor’s other approved mechanisms, as noted in Section 7. US and other local laws may allow courts, law enforcement, or regulators to access data held in those countries. By using the Service you understand your information may be processed in those places as described here.
15. Changes
We may update this Policy by posting a new version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be emailed to the address on your account. Continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
The version with the newest “Last updated” date on the Service is the current version. For material changes we will try to give notice — for example by posting on the Sites, an in-product notice, or email. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the Service and close or cancel your account as described in the Terms of Use. Stopping use does not create a refund.
16. Your choices and controls
In addition to the rights in Section 12, you can:
- Edit your profile, photos, bio, website link, and some visibility settings in your account
- Mute @mention email or adjust notification preferences where those controls exist
- Hide your online / last-seen signal in Settings → Privacy (Show when I’m active). While it is on, we update a last-seen timestamp when you have the app open; we still only show coarse buckets, not an exact clock
- Block or report other members or Content
- Deactivate your account when that control is available (see Section 9)
- Unsubscribe from marketing email and manage cookies as in Sections 8, 12, and 13
- Email privacy@utelx.net to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold, including videos or posts imported from YouTube, TikTok, or X
- Disconnect TikTok, YouTube, or X on the Import page. That clears the unsaved list. Saved copies stay until you delete them or ask us to delete them
Some choices take time to move through caches, backups, and search indexes. Turning a setting off may limit a feature (for example signed-in checkout or notifications).
17. English language
This Policy is written in English. If we later post a translation and there is a conflict, the English version controls. Headings are for reading only.
